Update of BCL Statistical Data Collection for Financial Companies
BCL
Change
The circular adjusts the statistical reporting obligations of financial companies by introducing and/or updating certain reporting formats and data to be submitted.
These modifications aim to align data collection with recent standards and regulations, while reducing unnecessary redundancies.
Entry into Force
Unlike the recent changes concerning Investment Funds, whose new format applied as from the end of 2025 (12/2025), the new formats for financial companies will apply at the beginning of the year (01/2027).
This means that all 2026 reports (TPTIBS, S2.16, S2.17) must be submitted in the current format and will have to be submitted in the new format as from January 2027.
Impact for Reporting Entities
The entities concerned will need to adapt their processes for generating and submitting statistical reports in order to comply with these new specifications from January 2027 onward. Preparatory work is recommended to anticipate this change.
Testing Phase
The BCL plans to implement a testing phase before the definitive entry into force of these new requirements. During this period, reporting entities or their service providers may submit test data to verify format, consistency, and compatibility with the new standards, without immediate regulatory consequences. This will allow potential errors to be detected and corrected before official reporting begins.
For Users of U IT Tools
The solution we offer for generating these reports is called “RFC GUI” (Reporting Financial Companies). We will update the tool in the coming months and will inform our clients as soon as a first version becomes available, so that those who wish may conduct tests with the BCL.
