BCL – Update of Investment Fund Statistical Reports
U IT
History
It was at the end of 2014 that the BCL set up, in Luxembourg, the collection of investment fund statistics ( link )
In 2018, it was extended to unregulated alternative investment funds ( link )
This data collection consists of several reports (or statistical tables) that must be submitted to the BCL depending on the type of fund. It includes:
A monthly report called TPTOBS
A report either monthly (S 1.3) or quarterly (S 2.13)
A monthly report S 1.6 (only for non-monetary funds)
Redesign of the collection
A major change was announced in 2024 regarding this collection. It consists of :
An update of the versions (formats, structure) of the reports mentioned above (TPTOBS, S1.3/S2.13, S1.6)
The implementation of two new reports :
A quarterly report, S2.20 (only for alternative investment funds not authorised by the CSSF – the NAFs)
An annual report, S4.4
These changes will take effect at the beginning of 2026 for the collection period starting in January 2026. The first reports to be submitted in the new format are those for the period 12/2025. In practice, TPTOBS, S1.3 or S1.6 reports for December 2025 and S2.13 reports for the fourth quarter of 2025 must be submitted in the new format during January 2026.
Any reports prior to 12/2025 that need to be submitted to the BCL (due to a delay) or corrected must be submitted in the old format.
